Rajaji National Park Safari Booking Confirmation: Permit, Payment and Gate-Day Checklist

After Rajaji National Park safari booking, check the confirmation, print the permit, plan the gate transfer and avoid late-arrival problems with this practical checklist.

Rajaji National Park Safari Booking Confirmation: Permit, Payment and Gate-Day Checklist

Rajaji National Park safari booking is not finished when a payment leaves your account. The practical booking is complete only when the official day-visit ticket or permit is available, the details are checked and the group has a realistic plan for reaching the correct gate.

The Rajaji Tiger Reserve booking page tells visitors to make payment, wait for the day-visit ticket to be booked and print the permit. It also warns that late arrivals after the last entry time may not be entertained and that deposited fees will not be refunded in those cases. Use this checklist before your safari day.

Payment is not the same as a permit

A bank debit, card message or payment screenshot only shows that a transaction was attempted or processed. Follow the official booking flow until the day-visit ticket is generated. Save the payment reference, but also save and print the actual permit the portal provides.

If money has been debited but the permit is not visible, do not immediately submit a second payment. Note the visitor names, date, zone and shift, take a screenshot of the status and contact the official support channel. Two payments can create a second problem without solving the first.

Check every field on the confirmation

Read the permit before leaving your accommodation. Check:

  • Visit date.
  • Selected zone and reporting gate.
  • Morning or evening shift.
  • Group leader name.
  • Names and visitor details included in the booking.
  • Any identity or visitor-category information displayed by the portal.

If a detail appears wrong, contact the reserve or the authorised booking contact before travelling. Do not assume a gate officer can change a paid record at the last minute. Our after-booking checklist covers transport, packing and confirmation preparation.

Plan around the official entry window

The official booking page currently publishes these Safari Gypsy entry windows:

  • 15 November to 15 February: morning 6:30–8:00 AM; evening 1:30–3:00 PM.
  • 16 February to 15 April: morning 6:00–7:30 AM; evening 2:00–3:30 PM.
  • 16 April to 15 June: morning 5:30–7:00 AM; evening 3:00–4:30 PM.

The page separately lists last-exit timings and advises tourists to reach the gates 20 minutes before the last entry timing. Treat the live official page and the printed permit as the source for your selected date. Do not plan to arrive exactly at the closing edge of the entry window.

Build a gate-day transfer buffer

Work backwards from the gate, not forwards from your hotel breakfast. Include the time needed to wake up, collect the permit and documents, load the vehicle, travel through town, find the reporting gate and complete any checks. Traffic around Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun can vary by season, weekday and local events.

If the group is travelling by train, arriving the previous day is generally easier than connecting directly from a same-morning train to a fixed safari entry window. The rail-arrival guide explains why a buffer matters.

Keep the permit and identity document together

Carry the printed permit and the identity document required for the booking. The official guest-login page specifically says that a passport is mandatory as identity proof for non-Indian visitors. Every visitor should know where the group leader is keeping the booking papers.

Keep a digital backup, but do not make the group dependent on mobile signal or a charged phone. A paper copy protects the morning from a weak connection, a flat battery or an unreadable screenshot.

Official help for a booking problem

The official Rajaji Tiger Reserve guest-login and contact pages publish +91 9411568917 and support-rtr[at]uk[dot]gov[dot]in. The official contact page identifies the Rajaji Tiger Reserve Safari Booking Office at 5/1 Ansari Marg, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and lists availability from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Verify the current contact details at the official contact page. When asking for help, provide the payment reference, visitor or group leader name, selected date, zone and shift. Never send a card PIN, one-time password or banking login to a person claiming to be support.

Gate-day checklist

  1. Printed official day-visit permit.
  2. Relevant identity document for each visitor.
  3. Payment or booking reference saved separately.
  4. Correct date, zone, gate and shift confirmed.
  5. Driver and operator contact available offline.
  6. Route planned with a traffic and document-check buffer.
  7. Arrival scheduled at least 20 minutes before the official last entry timing.
  8. No assumption that a late arrival will receive entry or a refund.
