Rajaji + Jim Corbett Combo: 3–4 Day Itinerary & Booking Order

One trip, two tiger reserves, two portals. A three or four day structure for Rajaji and Jim Corbett that keeps the permits separate, reads the Corbett season zone by zone, and states plainly that no official distance between the two parks is published. Sources checked 5 Nov 2026.

Rajaji + Jim Corbett Combo: 3–4 Day Itinerary & Booking Order

A holiday that puts Rajaji Tiger Reserve and Jim Corbett National Park in the same week is entirely possible, and entirely double-booked: separate reserves, separate authorities, separate portals, separate permits. The only way to run both is to treat them as two transactions sharing one itinerary. This page sets out the three or four day structure, the order to book in, and the gaps the official pages leave you to fill locally.

Sources checked on 5 November 2026: the Rajaji reserve's own day-visit booking page and About page; Corbett's jungle safari page, pricing page, booking portal and process page; and this site's own published pages, linked at the foot of this article. Seasons and portal rules change without notice, so recheck dates close to travel.

Two reserves, two authorities, two bookings

Rajaji sits in the Shivalik foothills around Haridwar, Dehradun and Rishikesh; Jim Corbett lies near Ramnagar in Nainital district. Separate protected areas mean separate management.

The working rule is short: book each park separately, and never assume one permit covers both. A Rajaji permit is checked at a Rajaji gate against that reserve's records; a Corbett permit at a Corbett gate against Corbett's. The argument for keeping the systems apart belongs to the separate permits and portals guide, which this page links rather than re-argues, and the park-versus-park question to the Rajaji and Jim Corbett comparison.

The Rajaji side, as the portal publishes it

Rajaji's day-visit page sets out a plain ordered flow: select a date, select a zone, select a shift, enter the details of the visitors along with the group leader, make payment, then print the permit. The zone you pick is the gate you drive to. The reserve states a season of 15 November to 15 June, and its pages disagree: the booking page prints that season in its banner, while its Chilla Range Open/Closed line says 15 October to 15 June, and the dedicated Chilla zone page says 15 November to 15 June. Treat the portal calendar as the authority for your date.

Two further published conditions travel with that booking: non-Indian visitors must carry a passport as identity proof, and the portal warns that online booking can be done only with a static IP, preferably on a desktop PC, and may not be possible on mobile and tablet devices using dynamic IPs.

The Corbett side, read zone by zone

Corbett has no single season to quote, so this page prints none. Its pricing table and its zone pages disagree; read the zone you actually intend to book. As checked on 5 November 2026:

  • Bijrani, entered through Amdanda: 15 October to 30 June on the pricing table, while the zone page says mid-November.
  • Jhirna through Dhela, and the Dhela zone itself: open throughout the year on both.
  • Dhikala, entered through Dhangarhi: 15 November to 15 June, with no jeep day safari — canter or night stay only.
  • Durgadevi: 15 November to 15 June on the table, while the zone page says 15 October to 15 June.
  • Garjiya: 15 October to 30 June on the table, with the gate written as Ringora on the safari page and Garjiya on the table.
  • Sonanadi through Vatanvasa, and Pakhro: 15 November to 15 June on the table, while both zone pages say 15 October to 15 June.

Where a table and a zone page disagree, check the zone page and the live calendar. A combo trip has two seasons to satisfy: confirm both rather than average them.

Corbett's published booking rules

Corbett's process page reads differently from the Rajaji flow. The booking window opens progressively each day and allows reservations up to 45 days in advance, for jeep, canter and night stay alike. A booking takes a maximum of 6 individuals, children below 12 years do not require a permit, and a canter seat for one must be bought separately.

Three more published conditions matter for planning. The gate reporting time is printed on the permit, so confirm it before travel rather than assuming a fixed lead. From 22 September 2026 a clear image of both the front and the back of the group leader's valid ID must be uploaded at booking, and any mismatch with the uploaded ID restricts entry. On rates, OCI card holders and SAARC nationals pay Indian rates, while a permit including any foreign national draws foreign rates for the whole party. Dhikala's canter is a 16-seater, and that zone's only day-safari vehicle.

The transfer nobody publishes

No official distance or drive time between Ramnagar or Corbett and Rajaji was published in the sources used here, so this article states none: no kilometre figure, no hour figure, no route statement. The gap is reported as a gap rather than filled with a plausible number.

What can be said is structural: plan the move via Haridwar, which the reserve lists as reachable by road, and verify the route, vehicle and timing locally. Treat any third-party figure as unverified until an official source confirms it.

The three-day and four-day structures

Both variants assume both safari slots are confirmed first, and both share the same three days:

  • Day 1: arrive on the Haridwar or Rajaji side, then a Rajaji evening shift if your arrival allows, or hold the slot for the next morning.
  • Day 2: Rajaji in the morning, then the transfer toward Corbett via Haridwar. No official transfer time is published for this leg, so confirm it locally.
  • Day 3: a Corbett zone safari on the zone and gate named on your permit.

The three-day variant ends there, with the return journey beginning after the Day 3 safari. The four-day variant adds Day 4: a second Corbett morning if a permit exists for it, or the return journey. That extra day is buffer for the two seasons, the 45-day window and the transfer — drop the three-day plan when any of those is still unconfirmed. Either way, each day is held by a permit with a name, a date and a gate on it.

The booking order

One window is fixed and the other is not. Corbett's 45-day window is the binding constraint: decide the Corbett zone and date first and book it on its own portal when that window opens. Rajaji is then booked on its own portal for whichever of its dates remain inside its season. Accommodation follows the gate each permit names, not the other way round.

Keep the two records in separate columns, each confirmed against its own official page, and never paste a detail from one into an enquiry about the other park.

What this page will not claim

Four abstentions, so silence is not read as an oversight. No package price for either park or the combination, because a current tariff belongs to the responsible system on the day you book. No distance or drive time between the two parks. No single Corbett-wide season, because the official pages do not agree on one. And no permit is assumed to cover both reserves, which is the one assumption this structure exists to prevent.

Where to read next

For why the two bookings can never be merged, the separate permits and portals guide. For which park suits which interest, the Rajaji and Jim Corbett comparison. For the state-level picture, jungle safari across Uttarakhand places Rajaji beside Corbett and Nandhaur. For the Rajaji portal walked step by step, the safari booking guide. The two companion pages in this release are the Chandigarh, Jaipur and Lucknow routes page and the Golden Triangle extension page. Sources checked 5 November 2026.

Rajaji and Corbett combo trips: questions answered

Do I need two separate bookings for Rajaji and Corbett?

Yes, and this page never suggests otherwise. Rajaji Tiger Reserve and Jim Corbett National Park are separate protected areas with separate authorities and separate official booking portals, so a holiday that includes both is two transactions. Rajaji is booked on its own day-visit page through a flow of date, zone, shift, visitor details, payment and printed permit: https://rajajitigerreserve.uk.gov.in/jungle-safari-booking.aspx. Corbett is booked on its own portal and its own process page: https://corbettgov.org/process.html. One confirmation has no standing in the other system.

What season does each park publish for a combo trip?

Rajaji prints 15 November to 15 June as its season, and the reserve's own pages disagree with themselves: the day-visit booking page carries that same banner, while the Chilla Range Open/Closed line on that page prints 15 October to 15 June, and the separate Chilla zone page prints 15 November to 15 June: https://rajajitigerreserve.uk.gov.in/chilla-zone.aspx. Corbett has no single season to quote. Read the zone you actually book, because the pricing table and the zone pages do not agree: https://corbettgov.org/pricing.html and https://corbettgov.org/junglesafari.html.

How far ahead can Corbett jeep permits be booked, and what are the gate rules?

Corbett's process page states that the booking window opens progressively each day and allows reservations up to 45 days in advance, with a maximum of 6 individuals per booking and children below 12 years not requiring a permit, while a canter seat for a child under 12 must be bought separately: https://corbettgov.org/process.html. The gate reporting time is printed on the permit, and from 22 September 2026 a clear image of both the front and the back of the group leader's valid ID must be uploaded at booking, with Dhikala reachable by a 16-seater canter rather than a jeep day safari: https://safari.corbettgov.org/.

How do I travel between the two parks?

No official distance or drive time between Ramnagar or Corbett and Rajaji was published in the sources used for this page, so none is printed here. Plan the move via Haridwar, which sits on the reserve's own road-access list, and verify the actual route, timing and vehicle locally before you commit: https://rajajitigerreserve.uk.gov.in/About.aspx. Treat any third-party kilometre or hour figure you encounter as unverified until an official source confirms it.

What order should I book everything in?

Book each park separately, in this order of dependency: fix the Corbett zone and date first because the 45-day window is the tightest constraint, then book Rajaji on its own portal for whichever of its dates remain, then fix accommodation around the gate each permit names. Never assume one permit covers both parks, and keep the two confirmation sets in separate columns. Sources checked 5 November 2026.
