The official guest-login page says that a passport is mandatory as identity proof for non-Indian visitors. A mixed group should use the correct visitor category for each person rather than placing everyone under the same category for convenience.

Choose a shift the whole group can reach
The current official page lists morning and evening jeep-safari shifts and seasonal entry windows. For a family with children or older visitors, choose the shift that can be reached calmly from the accommodation. A theoretically attractive slot is not useful if the group arrives late.
The official page advises reaching the gate 20 minutes before the last entry timing and warns that late arrivals may not be entertained without a refund. Add time for loading, traffic, toilets, documents and finding the correct reporting point.
Keep the vehicle experience respectful
Prepare children and first-time visitors for a quiet drive. Do not play music, shout across the vehicle, call animals or ask the driver to chase a sighting. Do not leave the vehicle unless the guide or park rules allow it. The forest is a protected habitat, not a guaranteed show.
Explain that a tiger may not appear and that birds, deer, trees, tracks and sounds are all part of the safari. Realistic expectations make the trip better for the group and safer for wildlife.
